How To Download Your Report as a Word Document

Word export produces an editable version of the report, which is what you want when the report is going back to whoever wrote the document rather than into a file.

Which plans include it

Editable Word download is included on Growth and Enterprise. Starter and the free trial include PDF export — see downloading your report as a PDF. If you need Word export, upgrading your plan takes a couple of minutes and applies immediately.

Steps

  1. Open the report you want to export.
  2. Select Download Word at the top of the report.
  3. The file downloads as a .doc file, which opens in Word, LibreOffice, Pages and Google Docs.

What you can do with it

  • Delete findings you have overruled, so the author only sees what you want them to act on.
  • Add your own comments against a finding — the site context Valify could not know.
  • Paste the critical findings into a rejection email or a review sheet without retyping them.
  • Keep an annotated version alongside the document revision as a record of the review.

A note on editing

Once you edit the file it is your document, not a Valify report, and the standard notice at the bottom applies to the original. If you are sending it on to a subcontractor, it is worth saying explicitly that the findings are points to consider rather than a compliance verdict — the distinction matters, and what critical means in a report explains why. Sending the Done Well findings along with the critical ones tends to get a better response than sending only the failures, and it is one of the differences visible in before and after RAMS examples.
