What Happens When My Monthly Scans Run Out

When your allowance is used, new scans pause. Nothing else changes: your reports stay available, you can read and export them, and nothing is charged automatically.

When it resets

Paid plan allowances reset on the 1st of each month, back to the plan's full amount — 30 scans on Starter, 250 on Growth. Enterprise is unlimited. Unused scans do not carry over.

Trial scans work differently. The three free scans are a fixed allowance rather than a monthly one, so they do not reset on the 1st. See how the free trial works.

The two options before the reset

Top-up packs

Starter and Growth can buy extra scans in packs of one to five, with a discount on the larger packs. Top-up credits are permanent — they do not expire at the end of the month and they are used only after your monthly allowance is gone, so buying a pack near the end of a month is not wasted.

Upgrading

If you are buying top-ups most months, upgrading is cheaper per scan. Growth's 250 scans work out considerably below any top-up rate, which is deliberate — top-ups are for spikes, not for running a plan above its size. See how to upgrade.

What uses a scan

  • Each document submitted for review, including a multi-file submission reviewed as one document — that is one scan, not one per file.
  • Each resubmission of a revised document, because it is a full new review. See resubmitting a document.

What does not

  • Re-opening, re-reading or exporting a report you already have.
  • A scan that fails for a technical reason.
  • A file rejected at upload for being the wrong type or too large.

Making the allowance go further

The single biggest saving is resubmitting once rather than after every edit — address everything, then re-run. The second is fixing the recurring faults in your own templates, so the same findings stop coming back on every document. Twelve RAMS mistakes that fail inspection is a reasonable list to audit a template against.
