How To Delete My Account

You can delete your account yourself, from within the product, and it is permanent. This is deletion, not deactivation — there is no restore.

Steps

  1. Open Settings from your account menu.
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone, at the bottom of the page.
  3. Select Delete Account, then confirm with Yes, delete my account. There is no second email step — it happens immediately.

What is deleted

  • Every document you have uploaded, and the stored files behind them.
  • Every report and its findings.
  • Your profile and your sign-in credentials.

Your subscription

Any active subscription is cancelled as part of the deletion, so you are not billed for an account that no longer exists. There is no refund for the remainder of the current period.

What is retained, and why

Billing records are kept where we are legally required to keep them — VAT and company law set retention periods for financial records that a customer's deletion request does not override, and this is a recognised exception under UK GDPR. That means the invoice record survives; it does not mean your documents do. GDPR and your data sets out the detail.

Before you delete

  1. Export any reports you need — see downloading a report as a PDF.
  2. Download any invoices your finance team will want — see how to download an invoice.
  3. Check whether colleagues rely on documents in the account.

If you only want to stop paying

Cancel instead. It stops the billing and keeps your reports available for the rest of the period — see how to cancel my subscription. Bear in mind that project records often have to outlive both, for the reasons set out in health and safety file requirements under CDM 2015.
